Jayms Madison: She's Got Your Room Service...and Much More...

Sit back. Boy relax. Place a napkin on your lap. I've got your order for ya babe. Tell me where you like it at...
Jayms Madison introduces you to her world of sultry seduction through her vocal prowess in "Room Service." ATLiens, I had the extreme pleasure of interview Ms. Madison and here's what she had to tell ATLFab!... K: At what age did you know that you wanted to be a singer? JM:I don't really know what age I decided to get into music professionally but I was pretty focused once I hit junior high. I was sort of the local entertainer of my neighborhood. If someone couldn't remember my name, they'd just call me "the singer". I guess that helped seal my fate. K: Who would you say has influenced your vocal style? JM: Wow; so many people! Prince, Tina Turner, Dakota Staton, Minnie Ripperton...The list goes on and on. I'm easily influenced musically. Believe it or not, a lot of things I do with my voice were inspired by electric guitar riffs... K: After listening to "Lost Your Mind," I defintely hear the electric guitar inspiration. But I have to ask, what's your favorite city on the East Coast? JM: New York, naturally! No place like it. Don't get me wrong, every city has its own flair; but you know I'm a "Sex and the City" kind of gal. K: Well, ATLFab! wants to know when you plan on stopping by Atlanta? JM: I plan on coming as often as the ATLiens would like me to. I love everything about the "A" and its culture. I was out there for a performance on the 24th of April... K: Tell me this...do you write all of your songs or do you let the ghost writers do their thing? JM: I write a majority of my music and I love collaborating with other writers I respect every now and then. Its kind of like cooking. The more you play with the seasonings, the more you find spectacular flavors. K: Mmm...something smells good! What's the first thing people say when they hear your music? JM: I get a lot of comparisons to Tweet and Beyonce. I mean that really makes me feel good considering I respect them both so much. K: Be your own critic just for a second... JM: Hmm...well I guess the one weak spot I need to work on is calming my vibrato and learning how to turn it off and on. It's really hard sometimes but it's not always appropriate. I could work on my water drinking....I really hate water. It's odd I know but its honest. I have a thing for iced teas and grapefruit juice. Thats it; I don't wanna give all my secrets away...
K: I bet all that iced tea you drink in New York can't compare to the sweet tea here in the Dirty South. Ok, ok final question...What makes you FABULOUS? JM: Oh my...well I can't put my finger on any one thing. I'd hate to limit myself. Maybe everyone should stay tuned and decide for themselves ;) Check out her MYSPACE PAGE for music, videos and more of Jayms Madison...
