Pizza Bar in Bankhead

So this weekend, I stumbled upon a rather interesting discovery. Nestled in the "shining" hills of Atlanta's Bankhead community, was a restaurant that will probably be seeing a lot more of me in times to come. Pizza Bar (1450 Veterans Memorial Hwy Se Mabelton, GA) which is about 10 mins from Downtown Atlanta. It's reminiscent of Slice, the popular metro-Atlanta pizza restaurant. However, I found Pizza Bar to be less pretentious; and did I mention the pizza tasted great?! (Photo: The menu at Pizza Bar) I didn't care too much for their [ugh...] wire chairs or flimsy tables, but the prices were decent and the drinks were pretty good. I suggest that if you and a group of friends decide to visit this diamond in the rough [surrounding area...lol], call ahead and ask for the reserved seating area. There's only one, by the way. (Photo: ATLFab! with Greg Davis and Nick Bouier at Pizza Bar) The DJ really knows how to rock the house on a Friday night. The music was much better than the [yawn] same-old same-old, blaring from the speakers at Slice. Although I must say, the crowd here is rather prude. Much of the patrons were in their late twenty-somethings to older thirty somethings...or maybe they just looked that way. Either way, the staff is nice and accomodating, and the waitresses are hot! I say, let the good times roll and take a crack at this one... Happy Hunting!
