A Night Out With Nature Black Tie Gala

(Photo Credit Vinnett Bradshaw: Chattahoochee Nature Center-A Night Out With Nature Gala)
The summer's almost hee, and things are really heating up in Atlanta. Apparently it was warm enough, this weekend to hob-nob under the stars. This weekend was chock-full of good ole' boys club fun. Your's truly, Kaluskie, rubbed shoulders with Atlanta's elite at the A Night Out With Nature Black Tie Gala. (Photo Credit Vinnett Bradshaw: ATL Fab! with Travers Johnson of Random House Publishing at the Chattahoochee Nature Center's Gala) Amidst all the money being thrown around during the auction, one would have hoped that these people would've dress the part. Tsk...Tsk...I guess it is true what they say: "Money doesn't buy you style!" Nevertheless, I was one of te few "token black guys" at the event, so I didn't feel so out of my element. But hey, who say no to free champagne and the chance to see the rich and wealthy at their best...and worst? Not I! (Photo Credit Vinnett Bradshaw: ATL Fab! with Vinnet Bradshaw of Jezebel Magazine and other Gala attendees) Until later...happy hunting ATLiens!

Kanye West's Glow in the Dark Tour

So Kanye was in ATL this past weekend for his Glow in the Dark Tour featuring other artists such as Rihanna, N.E.R.D and Lupe!!!
(Photo: Kanye at The Velvet Room | Photo Credit: unclaimed baggage)
Kanye was spotted at 300 Bowling Alley, where other celebs like Chingy, Polow Da Don and Quincy Jones joined him. He left that spot and headed over to The Velvet Room, where the party was hosted by none other than (sexy fine) Pharrell Williams. Young Jeezy was also spotted here.
One of my favs, NecoleBitchie.com  has the scoop...she writes that Chris Brown was also in the Aaaaa for his honey Rihanna of course and that apparently Kanye hit the studio with T.I. (can't wait for that to drop)...

HITTSQUAD Presents: DSTINATION, WHAT YOU MISSED!

Reviewed by Waverly and Warner ATLFab! Correspondents Sunday, April 06 2008
(Photo: ATL Fab! Twins Waverly and Warner)
Last week, Hittsquad Ent. and the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Inc., "Sexy" Sigma Chapter hosted the DSTination party. The shuttles for the party were empty because most upperclassmen didn't have the luxury of waiting in the rain for a bus (sarcasm); but the club was actually a fun time!
(Photo: The lovely ladies of Spelman College's Junior class)
The weather was muddy and we didn’t arrive to the club until 11:15 but at least the lines weren’t slow and we still managed to get in free before 11 with the secret password as promised on the flyer.
City Life would have to be our favorite "least favorite club" in Atlanta; and it is also the biggest small club that we've ever been in as well. But tonight was well worth the trip. The bartenders were friendly and didn’t have the customers in line all night...it seemed like the party started as soon as we walked through the door (it usually does anyway!).
(Photo: Korey Felder, CEO of Hittsquad Entertainment)
The signature City Life couch that we all know and love had been moved from the back bar to the stage for the ladies to sit on before they began to stroll alongside the Georgia State Kappas
The night went off without a hint of drama and the promoters were great. The Hittsquad guys walked around the club snapping photos and talking to partygoers throughout the night....guess they knew ATLFab! was in the building.
The party ended about 2ish and by that time most of the Deltas were sitting on the floor...although it was SUPER WET from wasted alcohol. Hhhhhhmmmm, lets aim for our mouths’ next time guys.
Good times!!!

A Rainy Frequency and DC Fab! is in the Big Peach!

(Photo: Twin and ATL! Fab dude Kaluskie at Frequency Nightclub )

Rain rain go away, come again "during the week and stop ruining our weekends!" UGH! So...apparently last night was the first time I've ever been to a party at Frequency, located in Underground Atlanta, 50 Upper Alabama Street, in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. Last night's shindig, brought to you by NVUS ENT, STAINLESS ENT, and CERTIFIED CRUNKNESS, and hosted by the FABULOUS senior classes of Morehouse and Spelman College. It was urprisingly fun.

(Photo: Lerrick McCorvey and Barrell Morgan of NVUS ENT at Frequency) I do have to admit, Frequency may have been a bit spacious...if you know what I mean. There were 150+ people there, tops. Although I didn't have to wait in line (Thanks NVUS Entertainment), I did notice the confusion at the front door. You would think that the bouncers would have at least tried to get people in quickly because of the rain, but that didn't seem like a concern to them at all. Plus, the bouncers were a bit rude to the patrons waiting in line. I'm SURE this isn't the first time its rained on a club night in Atlanta, so that couldn't have been the cause of the agitation. A few words of advice -GET IT TOGETHER!
(Photo: ATL Fab! with some beautiful people at Frequency nightclub ) Good thing I had a few drinks before getting to the club, because a Jack & Coke ran me 10 bucks. What the hell?! I can get that for 8 dollars somewhere else. Either way, I had fun with the beautiful and intoxicated people in the house. Speaking of House, you might catch DCFab! and I there tonight. PROPHECY EVENTS, STATUS INC, CERTIFIED CRUNKNESS, & APG MEDIA present High Society tonight at House Nighclub, 75 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Ladies are free all night, and guys are free until midnight. Doors open at 10pm. Get there early. But I'm honestly more interested in the Hittsqaud ENT party tonight at City Life,
1919 METROPOLITAN PKWY, hosted by the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., "Sexy" Sigma Chapter. Doors open at 10:00pm. Stay posted for the feature on the Kappa Ball...Happy Hunting!

Pizza Bar in Bankhead

So this weekend, I stumbled upon a rather interesting discovery. Nestled in the "shining" hills of Atlanta's Bankhead community, was a restaurant that will probably be seeing a lot more of me in times to come. Pizza Bar (1450 Veterans Memorial Hwy Se Mabelton, GA) which is about 10 mins from Downtown Atlanta. It's reminiscent of Slice, the popular metro-Atlanta pizza restaurant. However, I found Pizza Bar to be less pretentious; and did I mention the pizza tasted great?! (Photo: The menu at Pizza Bar) I didn't care too much for their [ugh...] wire chairs or flimsy tables, but the prices were decent and the drinks were pretty good. I suggest that if you and a group of friends decide to visit this diamond in the rough [surrounding area...lol], call ahead and ask for the reserved seating area. There's only one, by the way. (Photo: ATLFab! with Greg Davis and Nick Bouier at Pizza Bar) The DJ really knows how to rock the house on a Friday night. The music was much better than the [yawn] same-old same-old, blaring from the speakers at Slice. Although I must say, the crowd here is rather prude. Much of the patrons were in their late twenty-somethings to older thirty somethings...or maybe they just looked that way. Either way, the staff is nice and accomodating, and the waitresses are hot! I say, let the good times roll and take a crack at this one... Happy Hunting!

Konvict Music at the Blue Room, Janelle Monae at Smith's Olde Bar, Olympia Prime Free all Night, and Geisha House

If I get another message in my facebook inbox about the Konvict Music party tonight, I'm going to SCREAM! Have you EVER heard of OVERPUBLICZING? There's nothing worse than receiving too much publicity for a party whose promoter NO ONE knows anything about. But alas, my fellow ATLiens, here's the rundown for tonight's festivities... GYPSY STOKES OF KONVICT MUSIC & ILL FAM ENTERTAINMENT are hosting Konvict Music's take-over of the Blue Room tonight. Located at 2359 Peachtree Street in Buckhead. They claim to have the sexiest party every Friday night for young professionals...I'll let you be the judge. Doors open at 8:00pm, with $3 Martini Specials all night long. It seems as though Atlanta promoters find a new venue, and suck the life out of it until no patron wants to frequent it anymore. Such is the case with Olympia Prime, located at 133 Peachtree Street. There is YET ANOTHER party here, hosted by Almost Perfect Ent. and NVuS Entertainment, this week. There's a bright side, though. It's free all night...so they say! I've only heard of this one via facebook, and there's no flyer. Doors open at 10:00pm. I say, show up at 1:00AM and see how "free" the party is... Janelle Monáe, ATL's favorite Cyberchik! is turing things up at Smith's Olde Bar, with Deep Cotton and Tendaberry. She'll be taking pics and signing autographs. But make sure you have your ID's out because this event is 21+, kiddies. Doors open at 8pm, and there's a $12 cover. But the money's worth it. She's fabulous! ATLFab! with Janelle Monae at the "Tailor Made" party at Utopia
But, a little birdie whispered to me something about a soirée at Geisha House, in Atlantic Station tonight. That sounds right up my alley...Happy Hunting.

The Wondaland Arts Society and Project Runway's Michael Knight host Carl Bowen Birthday Bash at Utopia

(Photo: Carl Bowen, Founder of Crescendo Tailored Menswear) With Spring Break kicking off in the South, there won't be many quality events to choose from this weekend. But Carl Bowen's Quarter Century Celebration hosted by The Wondaland Arts Society and Project Runway's Michael Knight, may add a little pizzaz to this bleek weekend. Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Utopia 840 (Marietta St NW). Doors open at 10:00pm. (Photo: Janelle Monae with Michael Knight) The good news is the celebs will definitely show up. The bad news is knowing whether or not any of the beautiful people, who I know will show up. But enough of the pessimistic/optimistic mix...because Kaluskie will definitely be in attendance. I guess it's a great time to get to know some new people here in the city. Click here to see some of his Carl's work... As for tonight...It definitely sounds like a house party night or a night with the wifey. We'll see... Happy Hunting!!!

FUSION PLAYS TONIGHT AT SPELMAN COLLEGE

Don't want to push your way through the crowds tonight...cool down to the smooth sounds of FUSION Sponsored by Miss Spelman College 2007-2008, and her royal court, the concert will be held tonight in The Cosby Auditiorium, located on the campus of Spelman College 830 Westview Drive, 30314. But don't expect to sneak in the back door. Just pay the $5 or $7...whichever price they decide to charge you at the door. Besides, a portion of the proceeds are going to charity.. Which one? That's a question you'll have to ask them...
